Mission
The mission of the Upper Arlington Schools is: to prepare, inspire, and empower all students to be life-long learners and socially responsible citizens, able to communicate and to lead with confidence in an ever-changing global society. The purpose of the Resident Educator Program of the Upper Arlington Schools is to ensure beginning teachers have the necessary, support and opportunities for professional development to establish a solid foundation in professional practice in order to enhance student achievement.


Goals
1. Provide support for beginning teachers to become highly effective educators in their early years of teaching.
2. Induct them into the norms of a professional learning community.
3. Instilling in the minds of our beginning teachers professional habits of mind that lead to a sense of efficacy.
4. Provide information and opportunities for the beginning teacher to best develop his/her teaching style aligned with the Ohio Standards of the Teaching Profession.
